Zen Cucina

The last meal before I left Bangkok... again at Zen Cucina.

Mum, me and my friend, Ake who helped me eating sushi cuz mum don't like eating raw stuff. I just found out that I forgot to notes all the name of menu T_T

Scallop steak.

Big and juicy.

Condiments for steak

Warm eggplant salad with raw beef?

The hot fried eggplant on top make the beef a bit cooked. Nice !

Spicy cod roe sparghetti. Last time it was better, today it was too oily and too much butter.

Mushroom Linguine, mum's favourite.

And my dream comes true with Sushi platter !

I heard (good) sushi !

Vanilla Brasserie

One of my favourite restarant (but can't go often cuz a bit pricy T_T) Vanilla Brasserie in Sian Paragon.

This french style cafe focuses of crepes, easy cooking dishes and desserts.

The logo is very cute!

Cappuccino for me and Latte for mum.. haha my one got a piece of cookie :D

Salad of crisp squid ฿265

The batter was well seasoned, the rocket and dressing was tangy from balsamic vinegar.. when eat with a piece of orange slice.. so refreshing and went so well together.

Chicken pesto and Mozzarella Panini ฿190

I love panini.. if you read my blog enough you may know that I love sandwich..hehe... This one was perfect. the bread crisp and a bit of chewy inside, the filling was hot, melted Mozzarella and juicy chicken.. Yummmm....

Angel hair corned beef with chilli ฿220

This dish is very famous but I don't really like it though, a bit too salty.

I wanna eat again !!!!

Soi Nana with SchwedaKong and the Gang !

Who says that Internet society is dishonest. For me, I got lots of good friends from there (of course from reliable sites). Today was another day that we had a meeting for eating :D

Kong is one of friends that I knew from Pantip, Thai food webboard.. He is an artist (?) who loves cooking and drawing cartoon. He made an Indian sculpture called "Ar Baang" for his art exhibitions.... and he gave me ! Thanks ^ ^

6 of us (the others are Kong's friends) wanted to try something different this time. So we headed to Soi Nana where is like the Middle east town.

Oh dear, I have heard about this place before but never got chance to explore.. This time when I was there... Amazing ! no Thai people there, we were like the tourists. haha. All of them are Lebanese, Turkish, Egyptian, African and etc.

So first restaurant we went is Liberia restaurant. Everything was quite new for me.

Clockwise from left top: Tomato Stew, Okoro, Nsala, Eegusi
Mostly the food cooked from big chunks of beef and chicken and oily.

Rice paste to accompany the main dish.

We ordered plain rice also.. but we didn't finish because we still wanted to try something else.

Okra.. I don't like the feeling when eating it. ^ ^''

After that, we continued walking to find another restaurant.. we passed by this o_O

Not sure goat or lamb.

Then we found 1 look-okey restaurant.

We walked upstair.. got 2 peple sitting.. quite scary though ^ ^''

Shisha here are so shiny.

Huge menu.

Teoy was choosing the dishes.

Egytian Tea

Strong and lots of mints.. nice!

Here food comes!

Buttered Nan, Egyptian Salad, Hollow vegetable stuff, Rolled Grape leaf stuffed meat and rice, Mixed Grilled Lamb. All are quite okey.

Dessert: creme caramel and ?

Another good meal with good friends.

Rossini's

One day I felt like eating French but have no idea where to go. Suddenly think about Rossini's at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel.. but it's Italian..haha.. Ok, I don't mind if it is good !

Mum and I arrived there quite early around 6 pm. Only 1 table occupied.

The flower was pretty !

Olive and salsa

Grilled ciabatta, we had double.

Cygnus Tasca

I forgot to note the name.. but it was so expensive ฿550

Chef's complimentary dish: Terrine Foie gras with Raspberry sauce

Nothing special.

Grilled Seared Scallop with Tomatoes, Fava beans and Pecorino cheese ฿ 630

I had to say that the scallop was juicy, sweet and very fresh but the whole dish was quite bland for us. Like we tasted nothing only scallop.

My friend saw the picture and said that it should be the Japanese Scallop for sashimi grade.. That's why so sweet.

Home made Pansotti filled with Roasted Veal in Truffle Essence ฿420

I am not a big a fan of Truffle but I love the creamyness of the dish. But my mum didn't really eat cuz it was too creamy for her, I had about 5 Pansotti from 6.. ^ ^''

For main, we ordered
Snow Fish with Green Asparagus, Salina Capers and Cherry Sun dried Tomatoes ฿850
&
Black Olive Crust Lamb Cutlet in Garlic Rosemary Sauce ฿890

The waitress kindly recommended us that she will tell the chef to prepare 2 mains in to 1 dish per person since we wanted to share.

The lamb was quite nice but not as good as Gianni.

The fish was fantastic and juicy as well as the crumb on top which was crispy and tasty. We were really impressed.

Mum's hot coffee. They served with steamed milk.

Chocolate Truffle came with the coffee.

I love this! When mum poured the steamed milk in to coffee, it was just like the cappuccino... Wow..

Hot Chocolate Flan, Vanilla Sauce and Pistachio with Extra Virgin Olive Oil Ice Cream ฿290

Disappointed ! The flan was too sweet, the vanilla sauce was ok, the ice cream was too strange for me. But the presentation was beautiful.

hehe....mum was looking and thinking that when I gonna eat it.

Couldn't finish.
