Squires Loft Steakhouse

Worked at Bacco 2 years ago, now its time to catch up with my dearest Brenny & Juju at Squires Loft, P'Krit's workplace. (Does he allow me to post here? haha)

We had a bottle of 2010 Stumpy Gully "Magic Black"

Warm bread, I like.

Tiger prawn kebab : char-grilled with Squires Loft baste and served with garlic sauce on the side

Not a big fan of prawn but this was surprisingly good. Their special sauce brings the dish !

Baked mushroom & Fetta with garlic butter

The mushroom was so plump and juicy by it own, pairing with Fetta & garlic was even better. Some more it was a very healthy dish, wasn't it? ;P

Pork spare ribs (500g) : marinated in Squires Loft baste then char-grilled

Okey, once this one arrived at the table.. We were like.. "Ooohhhh..." It definitely was a huge portion of an appetizer. One bite, Juju & I made an eye contact ! Love the smokiness, tenderness of the pork.. and again, love the marinated sauce :)

Don't really need an effort to eat it, not too soft, not too tough, just nice.

If you know me, whenever I got a chance to see the kitchen, my camera is always there ^ ^

Here they are, Brenny, Juju & P'Krit

Come to the main !

Vegetarian Meal : 2 kebabs of mushroom, capsicum & zucchini served with grilled pumpkin and fried onion

Really like this one, good for sharing. All the veggies were sweet and flavoursome.

Rib eye on the bone (400 g). We ordered it with mushroom sauce and garlic butter sauce.

Such a big portion, lucky me sharing with P'Krit

Mine

Side salad

Sticky date pudding with extra ice cream lol

My cap :)

Such a lovely meal, thanks ka ^____^

Hurricane's Grill

I am personally not a meat eater person (I do love meat but just can't eat too much). However, once in awhile I still feel craving for ribs and Hurricane is my favourite ribs place.

Came for lunch with Ping & Ball.

Brown bread & butter, my love :)

We also tried garlic bread $4.95

Next time we will stick to the free bread.

Coffin Bay Scallops on Cauliflower puree with Piri piri Vinaigrette $20.90

I heard from my friend (Ayla) that this one is good so we ordered. The scallops were quite good, a lil small but the puree was the winner.

Hurricane's Pork Full ribs $34.00

I can see that it was so tender since I haven't touch it!

Mushroom sauce $2.75 also good one.

hahaha.. we did share the full rack among us 3, not only for myself :P

Feel like eating it again ><

Not bad, about $22 each and we were so full.

New friend I (Glebe St. Festival + Red chilli + Watson Bay + Pancake on the Rocks)

I found out that a couple years recently I always have new friends due to my blog and webboards (of course food-related). Most of them are very great friends and became my close friends now. This time again, one of my friend in Thailand introduced me to her friend, Mr.B, who is coming to Sydney for holiday. First we, Mr.B, P'Ta and I, went to Glebe Street Festival. (Some of pictures below are from Mr.B)

The weather was nice that day.

But there were not many food stalls which made us so disappointed. Most of them were clothes and accessories.

We ended up having a quick break at Clipper Cafe.

So happy having my pictures using DSLR camera..hahaha
We were still hungrily heading to China Town to find somethings to eat and chose Red Chilli Sichuan Restaurant.

Laziji : Deep fried chicken with dried chilli
Mapo Tofu: Hot and spicy silky tofu with minced pork
Stir fried Vegetables and pork.

My homemade Lemon tart & workplacemade Macarons :P
After late lunch, P' Ta went back home so Mr.B and I decided to go to Watson Bay (also my first time there)

My lemon tart & P'Ta's oreo mousse.

Then we took a ferry back to city arrived almost 8 pm. and had a light dinner at Pancake on the rock (it was my 2nd time after 2 years)

I like this picture taking by Mr.B (cuz my camera can't take like this)

At first time I had dinner here I thought it was just alright but this time it was worse..hehe. The pancake was far away from The Pancake Parlour in Melbourne.

Happy (Birth) Day !

Another year passed.. Today is my second birthday here in Sydney. One thing I always tell myself is I am super lucky that people around me is all beautiful people. In my school and university, I have good friends who love to study and never to bad things. Since I graduated, my first (and only 1) work place ( if not include the part time job, WAT program in USA) is just like my second home. I worked there for 5 years and I do love them as my family.

When I came to Sydney, I have known nice people and can't be luckier to work at SWEETNESS and especially Bacco. I have never thought that my birthday this year would be this great. Started around first of a month, one old friend sent me 7 discs of songs from Thailand (I called it my first present of the year). Follow by last friday, I was so so touched by my chefs at Bacco, you can see how wonderful there are.

Today, my great friends, all people I have known in Sydney gave me a great time. P'Ta, Tan, Ping, June and I went to Hurricane's Grill for lunch as they know that I have to work early on Monday (cant have dinner cuz I need to sleep before 10 pm. lol)

Long time never been here, my first time was last year.

Ja, June and Ping.

Warm wholemeal bread with my favourite butter.

P'Ta was cutting and looking at another camera :P

Grilled Calamari $17.70 : Calamari, flash grilled with lemon butter served with rice.

We all prefer rice than calamari. Rice was well seasoned and just nice in texture. Calamari was not so bad though.

Caesar Salad $20.00 : Combination of cos lettuce, bacon, croutons & anchovies, tossed in our own Caesar dressing then topped with shaved parmigiano

I know you may think it is the boring salad.. but it was delicious and went well with ribs... that's why we keep ordering the same dish we normally like.

Full rack of Pork ribs $37.90

Huge tender and flavoursome ribs... We love it, just I thought they should give us more sauce :P

Full rack of Lamb ribs $37.90

First time I tried rack of lamb this style.. The sauce was very tasty. I was think it should be the same sauce as the pork one.. but I still think it is more rich in flavour... The lamb itself was quite nice just a little bit dry.

Before my fingers were full of sauce...haha

My lovely P'Ta... My life in Sydney might not be this happy without her.

Tan, Ja and Ta

I used the fork since this is the first photo of ribs I took, my fingers were still clean..haha

After we all were stuffed with food, we headed to another cafe in World square to have some coffee... and !!!

Tada !!!! My birthday cake from P'Ta

Tiramisu cake.. The mascarpone cheese flavoured baileys layered with sponge soaked with coffee syrup... Wow, P'Ta is not just an amateur anymore :D

Thanks everyone for my super Happy (Birth) Day !

Presents from Ping (Guy) , June and Ping

Last but not least, okey, I think I have to call my mum now ...hahahaha

** update**

Today Monday 19 Oct after work, around 3 pm. Seok called me and said that he was on the way to the city, wait for me... He remember my birthday T^T

He came with a piece of cake and little magnet thing from Korea.

Thank you very much.. I was thinking of you that whether you can remember my birthday... and you do !
