Unexpected Melbourne Trip

Got a chance to go for a quick trip in Melbourne for weekends

Started the first meal at Blok M, grilled marinated oxtail.... so good !

Breakfast at Commercial Bakery, I tried this place twice in 2007. The pastries are ordinary but the coffee is good.

Can't go to Melbourne without visiting The Hardware Societe, this time they have so much more macarons !

Clockwise from top left :
1. The beautiful arranges of macs at The Hardware Societe
2. The dark chocolate tarts were from Commercial Bakery, very very good.
3. Once arrived home, Macs were messy but taste great.
4. Takeaway cappuccino from Mr.Tulk

The best KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) @ Gami

Il Fornaio st kilda

The famous Snicker Bar (very good but also very expensive), some chocolate cake Deryk ordered.. the chocolate cake was ok but the Liquorice ice cream was horrible, just not our type T T, housemade rose marshmallow.

Finally, I got to try Duncan's Macarons... still prefer La Renaissance's one.

Teh Tarik @ Old town kopitiam, China town

Good food indeed !

Finally, last meal, Shocolate !

B-52 Macaron on the plate and Iced dark chocolate.

TOO BEAUTIFUL TO EAT ! (but we did)

City Pocha

Party time !!!!!!!!

Last day in Intermediate Patisserie...Lots of fun and lots of new things I have learned...next semester will be about Sugar work and chocolate work...hur..scary !

Some of us (city people..hehe) came to have dinner at Korean restaurent '' City Pocha''

I saw many Korean eating here...mm..good sign ^ ^

After Claire ordered...They gave us so many bowls...!

Choju !!! of course No party without Alcohol...(really?)

Cheers ! (I forgot what they said in Korean)

Side dishes...the green salad behind is just green leaves with sweet chilli sauce but it was good...amazing, eh?

Kumja Tang - Spicy Pork & Potato Soup (medium ; $40)

This dish was recommended by Su hee...She said she got Thai friends and they all loves it...so she think I will like it...

The soup was ok..there is some strange taste from the sesame leaves..but the bone is awesome ! I am the bone person, I like to eat things that is not too easy to eat...hahaha

The best part of the soup is when it is almost finish...thick and more flavour...too bad I was too full now T_T

Spicy Octopus and chicken on hot plate with cheese $30

Can you see the cheese bubbling ? wow..I have never seen this dish in Thailand before...they put cheese to compromise the spiciness...I like it !

Amazing cheese...in the last photo...Claire with cheese ..

Su hee and I (I looked so tired -_-'')

Rice soup ..basically just rice and soup with no any flavour at all ...Claire said Korean normally eat this with Spicy chicken and cheese.

2 hours later...Hong came to join us..we had a nice talk that night.

Beautiful meal with beautiful friends.....another happy day !

Zowa

First meal with Man (Thai friend who finished cuisine from LCB, Thailand and came here to do Cert4) We were very hungry so I took him to Zowa, World square.

Lots of seasoning...

I like the atmosphere here...pretty cute !

see !

I just know that Korean also serve Omurice...I thought it is Japanese...

There are special menu for lunch also.

Water..

Ready !

Man had the Omurice with grilled chicken & chilli sauce...

Rice was good, it was fried rice with their special recipe which I dunno...but the chilli sauce was weird...

Mine : Omurice with Hamburg and tomato sauce...

The beef was good, especially the sauce and mayonnaise...Ah..I like it !

Fancy menu outside...

Another interesting choice when you are hungry in the city ^ ^

ZoZo

A few first day I was here in Sydney...always dine alone...such a poor girl :D Then I found this Korean restaurant around World Square...

I were there at 4.30 pm...not really lunch or dinner time...

Rice came with many side dishes...I like Korean food because of this ...

Warm and soft rice...

My pork and tofu kimji soup...(forgot what is the name of this dish)

Not bad...A first few minute I ate...I thought they forgot to give me pork, maybe they gave me Tofu soup? But I didn't bother cuz felt that ..ok let's be healthy...then kept eating....I found out that lots of pork (belly part) were under the veggies....Healthy food become so fatty..haha

Day 15 in Melbourne : Han Guuk Guan, La Citta

Actually today I wanna have breakfast at some nice cafes but Deryk wanna eat noodle -*- So I said ''Let's go eat Black bean noodle at Han Guuk Guan (at least it seems like I can choose ^ ^'') Since last time we had the wrong Black bean noodle.

12.05 pm...only 2 tables there...

We ordered 2 dishes, Bibimbab and Black bean noodle...It is very good bargain to come here for lunch...every dishes are $8.00

Bibimbab came first..we were a bit disappointed that it was not in Hot stone bowl...

Small side dishes...Kimji was very salty.

Taste was ok...should be much better in Hot stone bowl.

Yeah yeah...Black bean noodle came....So yummy ! 2 thumps up !!!

Then for dinner, Deryk was working again...so I just randomly picked up 1 restaurant on Degrave St....I didn't even hungry yet..still full from lunch but really felt like eating some nice desserts....

La Citta

Inside I feel cozy.. the waitress did her job pretty well.

Actually I really wanna eat just some turkish bread with dips or antipasto...unfortunately they don't have on the menu.

Another waiter gave me a spoon ..but I didn't order soup ^ ^''

A glass of something red wine $9.00 I asked for a waitress to recommend a glass of red wine...She gave me about 50 ml of wine to taste first, I like it then she filled the same glass with more the red wine....(I thought she gonna give me a new glass...or she suppose to do this ?) And I think she gave me too little lol

Yarra Valley Quail stuffed with Italian sausage pan roasted with soft polenta pan juices $ $18.00

I told you I was not hungry but...haha...I chose the whole quail !

The polenta was so creamy and tasted very nice. I honestly enjoyed it more than quail. However, the quail was good also but I left some of sausage cuz too full.

Now I felt tipsy already...started taking myself photos...As you can see from the above photo of a glass of wine...I said she gave me too little...but so strong..haha

My main mission today : Chocolate Self saucing pudding with vanilla ice cream (allow 15 minutes) $16.00

Hurr...not so satisfied...very normal..I think I can make better than this :P

Quite a bit expensive meal compare with the quality...
