Clipper Cafe II

Again Ping and I came to Clipper on last Saturday. We planned that after breakfast we wanted to go Glebe market to buy some dresses but we were so disappointed that the market was closed T_T

Rainy day that was why Clipper didn't so packed of people as usual.

Skinny Cappuccino & Hot Chocolate

Just like this shot ^ ^''

Toasted banana with ricotta and berries compote $8

Don't know how to tell you how ooh-and-aah we were when this dish came.. Look amazingly tempting. The colour of the berries.. I am craving now !

Just couldn't stop taking picture of it..hahaha

Again, same bicycle.

When we were taking pictures, the barista brought this cup of coffee to us and said that "take picture of this" Wow, so cool !!!

It was so so so so so gooooood!!!!

My new book.. just started to read for a few pages :D

I definitely came back for the same dish.. yum !

Toby's Estate

K' J, June's boyfriend came to Sydney for holiday. They got the coffee business in Thailand so I took them to try one of Sydney famous coffee establishment, Toby's estate.

Not only great coffee, they also provide lots of gourmet tea.

Latte for June.

Cappuccino for Ja

Espresso for K'J (haha.. we are all ''J'')

Bircher Muesli, natural muesli served with fresh apple juice, honey, mixed berries and yoghurt $8

Super refreshing, the real thing looks a lot better than the picture. I really like it (but always go for the unhealthy one if I have to choose.. lol)

French toast with bacon and mape syrup.. (was in my wishlist for long time)

See the bacon? they made it in interesting shape.. super delicious !!!! The bread was thick and big so it wasn't soak the syrup too much to make you feel sick of sweet. The saltiness of bacon and sweetness of syrup.. 2 thumbs up !

The only thing I can complain was the bacon was too little.. haha

Clipper Cafe

Recently Clipper cafe is another hits among coffee lovers. Situated in my area, the cafe was catched my eyes since it was opened but at that time no one reviewed about it yet and I am not adventurous... afraid to try.

After saw the beautiful review about clipper, I of course couldn't miss out. This post combines 3 of my visits.

Such a lovely, charming white-ish place decorated with green and wooden table... you definitly see the bicycle hanging on the wall in every reviews.. hehe

My first time was alone, sipping the cup of cappuccino and strawberry mascapone muffin at the window table.

The muffin was fluffy and moist by mascarpone chees. The coffee, on the otherhand, was a bit disappointing as it was spilled out when being served.

However, since there are so much great things about Clipper, I gave it another chance, took my friend there again.
The cafe is always busy everytimes I go there.

My skinny cappuccino. Even this time it looks so normal but it tasted great and was better than last time. (My friend said maybe it is my bias since last time I was alone and this time I got her to be my company...hahaha)

Baked Eggs with Napoli, Fetta, Spinach and Lamb sausage $10
I really like it, the napoli sauce was tangy, the fetta was creamy, the spinach gave it a texture and the lamb sausage had a saltiness and meaty flavour, all made this dish completed. Oh, and the garlic bread was so good :D

See how big of the dish compared with my face.. we shared it.

Then we chose 2 more desserts. Friand was okey for me but the portuguese tart was disappointed.

Third time.... we were there after had breakfast at Toby's estate, Chippendale, still full so we didn't order much.

Our coffee

We tried Baked eggs with Mushrooms, Fetta and Spinach. (just like last dish but got mushrooms instead of sausage). I prefer the lamb sausage one, just because I felt the taste was too healthy for me.

Ummmmmmm... I will come back for other menu :)

Yellow Bistro

Sorry for lacking of blogging.. just so tired lately from working.. Last month I went to this place "Yellow bistro'' top 5 of patisseries voted by Time Out Sydney Magazine .

Just ''a must shoot'' shot..haha

Skinny Cappuccino and hot chocolate.. My coffee was great. ( I personally like this shape of cup)

My date ^ ^

Croque Madame : pan fried batard, ham, egg, Heidi gruyere, rocket and chilli jam $18.50

We asked the waitstaff for the recommended dish.. ''Croque Madame'' said she. It was sooo good... Taste was a lot better than the picture. Their croque madame is different from others, with the egg hidden inside the bread.

The batard was lightly buttered and pan fried perfectly. About the filling was so tasty, creamy and cheesy (not too much). The saltyness of the ham when mix with the gooey yolk came to perfection. The chilli jam was the kick ! I tell you this dish brought us the moment of happiness.. hahahaha

We shared the main :D

and of course, sweet ! The famous Strawberry and mascapone cake $12.50

We were a bit surprised (and a bit disappointed) when found the coconut was in the sponge (both of us don't like coconut in baked goods) but this cake was still good. The coconut sponge was light, the strawberry coulis was tangy which helped our palete don't sick of the richness of mascapone cheese. Oh yah, the cracking caramelized sugar on top was also one of the great component of this cake.

The beauty of goodies !

My chef said I should try the lemon tart and date tart aswell..He think they are very nice. I will try it next time ( probably take away cuz a lot cheaper than dine in..haha) But actually we were impressed by savoury than dessert this time.
