Yellow Bistro II

My foodie fellow, Heidi came back from Singapore to continue her cert 4 at LCB. We had our date at Yellow Bistro in Pottspoint :)

2 cappuccino !

We planned to have a famous date tart.. but they don't make it T_T We asked the waitress and she said chef will make it when she has time... I even asked the chef, Lorraine and she answered the same thing... so how can we have the date tart? I think it depends on our luck? *sigh.

Rhubarb Tart $12

Chocolate Flourless Cake with raspberry coulis $14

Coconut macaroon $4

:D

The rhubarb tast was nice, sweet and sour filling and sugared well-baked short pastry paired very well with double cream.

The chocolate cake... when I cut it with my spoon, I noticed that it will be very light and my first bite, it was oh-so-light cake I have ever had, just like a souffle but at room temperature. It was very fluffy, super smooth and melt in my mouth. I was thinking that wow, I can finish it even it is so big. However, after a few spoons, we gave up ! It was very very rich...haha

Now I felt sick of sweet and wanna have their yummy Crouqe Madame but too full ^ ^''

In my opinion, I like the shop and still wanna try lots of their sweet but they are quite expensive.

Fish Market

Another day with Nut's mum. Our plan of this Saturday is breakfast at Fish market and shopping at Rozelle market.

Half dozen of Sydney rock oysters and half dozen of Pacific oyster. The Pacific one is more juicy while the Sydney rock oyster was more creamy and intense in flavour. I prefer the first one. Nut was very well-prepared dressing (Thai spicy nam jim seafood dressing) for oysters.

Half lobster mornay, wouldn't recommend.. so strachy.

And we bought a box of rice to eat with.....

Singapore Chilli mud crab. first time I tried... Super Delicious !!!

I have never tried in other places but I love this... the crab was really fresh (since it is fish market..haha) and the sauce was flavoursome, salty, sweet and a little bit spicy... I was so inlove with it, lots of licking fingers.

wanna eat it again.

Nut and her lovely mum.

Crab sauce with rice... heaven !

Even we were quite full but we still had another half dozen of Pacific oyster, this time we tried another original place (can't remember from where)... This one was a bit more expensive than the first one and a lot bigger.

Huge !!!

Happy face with too happy stomach.

After super satisfied, we headed to Rozelle Saturday market, shopped until tired and had a rest at Piccolo's cafe near that area.

The interior is quite cozy, feel like it is runned by Italian family (just my guess). We had latte, cappuccino and a passionfruit slice which was very heavily creamy.

Cafe Guilia III

This cafe is so near my house, just in the opposite street. (actually I have been there more than 3 times just that I didn't post about it)

Ping's Juice (Beetroot, Carrot, Apple, Ginger) $5.50 and my very good hot mocha $3.50.

Poached eggs with smoked salmon, hashbrown and spinach $16.90

I wanted to try this dish since I first came to Sydney in 2008 after I saw lots of this dish's pictures in flickr. At that time it was only about $12.90 I think.. but it is still good value for money compared to some other places. I had been waiting for someone to share the dish with me as the portion is too much for me... After almost 2 years, I finally got Ping with me :D.

We shared.

It's huge plate.

The generous serving of delicious smoked salmon with 2 beautiful poached eggs on top of fluffy golden hash brown (not like the bad one I had) served with sauteed spinash and some mayonnaise base sauce. Lovely !

Even we had only 1 dish, wow so full !

Eating day with Nut's mum

This week Nut's mum came to Sydney for holiday. I am lucky enough to join their brunch and dinner :D

We first started at True religion espresso bar in Balmain.

They served some of adraino's pastries too.

Cute :D

Cappuccino, Latte & Hot chocolate

Mum ordered brownie, it was not as dry as its look but it contains coconut which I am not a fan.

Coffee was not bad.

Italian potato rosti on a bed of rocket served with smoked salmon, sundried tomatos and mint yogurt $12

When the waitress brought the dish to the table, we were like ''oohhh''. It was huge ! very value for money. Salmon was delicious having with the rocket and yogurt.

The disappointed thing was rosti. It came in the muffin shape but very hard and dry. They definitely heat it with microwave too long.

We didn't eat too much since we planned to continue our sweet brunch at Adriano Cafe.

We had to wait for 20 mins to get the table.

The heart macarons look really nice but I didn't try.

Ricotta Pancake : cooked in orange butter, served with a berry compote and passionfruit cream $12

It was very big pancake, look like a big omlette...haha

I like, it was nicely soft with the orange, and tangy berry compote and a hint of passionfruit. But we were too full to finish ><

The younger years : chocolate fondant with raspberry coulis and vanilla anglaise injection and peanut butter gelato $13.50

The chocolate fondant was disappointed, dry and not chocolaty. The high light was peanut brittle.. crispy and nutty.

After lovely brunch, we headed to Rozelle market. I really like this market cuz the things are very cheap and nice... I spent less than $30 for my tops, shorts, earring and bag.

Our day was not finish yet, we had a light dinner at Wagaya.

Their symbol, touch screen !

Beef negi maki, chicken with namban sauce, buri's wing and salmon rolls.

1 bowl of rice for 3 people..haha with a delicioius chinese style shark fin salad, so tasty.

Thanks Nut and Mum for a wonderful day :D
