+39 Pizzeria & Degustation

Sorry for late posting.. Recently I feel myself have no energy or inspiration.. Everything seems so bored. I always feel so sleepy at daytime even I have slept for 7 or 8 hrs... Last nite I slept for 9 hrs..so ok, I think its time for me to blog..haha

This is second post about Melbourne. Before I went to Melbourne, my friend kept telling me about how good of Pizza at +39 is.. I was very interesting and waiting for trying.

We went there twice, first for lunch and second for breakfast.

Since I walked inside the restaurant, I felt so familiar, I even told my friend that this place looks like Espressino at Madame Brussells Lane. I remembered all these desserts and panini..hehe... Finally I found out that it is the same owner.

The range of pastries.. so tempting.

Selections of panini, piadine.

The slicing machine.. He was slicing eggplant for our pizza.

We were there about 2 pm.. Packed.

The easy-made menu is a great idea for thier budget.. my friend said they still keep changing and creating their menu. Maybe that's why they make this kind of menu first.

Gratinata : with Fresh mozzarella, eggplant, breadcrumbs aromatized in garlic and olive oil, with cherry tomatoes $10

We got a wrong choice, a bit disappointed for the topping.. It was quite dry, too little cheese and tomatoes, the eggplant was very thin and breadcrumb made it even drier. Anyway, the pizza crut was very good, thin and crisp.

We shared a $10 pizza for 2. So full already.

I like the crust. You can see how thin it is.

Since it was a bit dry, we asked them for chilli olive oil.. looked normal but it was extremely spicy..haha. Really!

My friend insisted to try the panna cotta. Sorry for the quality of the picture.. Actually it seemed pretty in the display but before serving, they dusted icing sugar on top which made it looked...-_-''

About the taste, the strawberry sauce was ok, but the panna cotta was way too much gelatin. I have never had the panna cotta this texture before.. You have to chew a lot before swallow..haha. My friend said last time it was better, they still keep adapting their recipe.

Another day, we came for breakfast.

The coffee machine is located at the front of the cafe.

Skinny Cappucino.. Pretty ! I really like this style.. not so perfect yet comfortable feeling.

My friend's latte, she seemed to enjoy it.

Nutella donut with an orange hint. Nothing extraordinary.

Foccaccia caprese : Fior de latte mozzarella, tomato and basil $8

I stared at the display for a long time before hardly making the decision what to order. Finally I ordered the same one as I had last time at Espressino cuz I like it so much. But here, disappointed again, the panini was too dry like they make it since yesterday.
Anyway, I still like the place, the biscuits look sensational and my friend said the lobster pizza for dinner time is divine.

it's a must to try the lobster and cavier pizza!!! best pizza ever!

i love this place so much (and the owner is so cute, LOL) for the atmosphere is so good and so comfortable, like you go to visit friend's house.

The coffee there is great (for the best result, you have to ask Reno to do it for you, haha) and they got lots of choice for panini :)

Do give Piadina Slowfood a try next time you're in Melbourne.

I find Espressino overrated.

Piadina Slowfood is a little cafe at rear of 59 Lonsdale St. Across the road from Madame Brussels Lane.
The piadina is very good with quality ingredients.
The best thing is they freshly made for you when you order.
They also sell sandwiches (pre-made) and slow cooked food with seasonal produce. A very interesting cafe.
