Casa Asturiana

Friday dinner....Spanish food at Casa Asturiana...Last year deryk came to this place with his family and he loves it...

We were there around 7 pm...The waitress told us that there will be a dancing at 9 pm...

I was still not really hungry since having lunch...so we ordered the tapas first.

1/2 litre of Sangria $11.00 : A delicious and refreshing typically Spanish drink made by mixing wine, sugar fruits and secret ingredient. First time I tried Sangria...loves it.

Sweet just like fruit juice...

Jamon Serrano $11.00 : Ham cured the Spanish way, thinly sliced and tasty. Pretty standard compared with the Italian one I had at GAS.

Deryk's favourite : Gambas al Ajillo $15.00 : Peeled garlic king prawns. Very fresh !

Calamares Fritos $12.00 : Fresh calamari, fried to perfection....The calamari was fresh and the batter was nicely crispy.

Chorizo a la Plancha $12.00 Barbecued Spanish pork & paprika sausage....The best for me...First it was put on the table, the smell was super fantastic...also not too salty and spicy.

Sardinas a la Plancha $11.00 : Fresh grilled sardines. The sadine was quite big and good as it should be...taste was so similar as Thai mackerel...

Pulpo al Ajo Arriero $13.00 : Braised octopus in olive oil, garlic, paprika & vinegar...I am not a big fan of octopus but it was quite nice, a bit sour and spicy, not oily as it looked.

Merluza Con Mayonesa $12.00 : Battered hake fillets served with mayonnaise...The fish fillets were like frozen and mayonnaise was very salty...I don't know it is the spanish style of mayonnaise or not.

Too full to have dessert !
